Michels

Evaristo Miguel Tur Enseñat, known to everyone as Michels. Press photographer, Port d'Andratx.

For decades his photos have run in the Mallorcan papers under the credit "Foto Michels". As the Port d'Andratx correspondent he covered whatever happened in the southwest of the island, from the fiestas of Andratx and Calvià to the crime stories that made the front page, always arriving on his 45 cc scooter.

In 1989 a case took him to Berlin, and he ended up photographing the fall of the Wall. Back home he kept doing what he has always done: walking the port with a camera, stopping for people he knows, and building what is today one of the largest collections of old photographs of Andratx.

This site is that archive, section by section, with the new photos he still takes every week.
